Help the club by buying shares
Many supporters have been asking what they can do to help the club in this difficult period. On behalf of the fans and the club I would like to make a genuine appeal for your assistance. I would like fans and friends of the club to commit themselves to one of two things by contacting me at Der[email protected]. I will then send details back to them.
Firstly I am looking for 100 fans to commit themselves to buy £100 of shares in the club either immediately or in two blocks of £50 over the next month or alternatively, if you do not wish to buy shares, to put that money into the club lottery which would cover the payments for the next 2 years at just £1 a week. Secondly, if you feel you cannot afford to put up £100 I would ask you to at least contribute £5 a month over the next 12 months to join the lottery.
The price of a couple of pints each month is surely not a lot to ask to help this club we all support and love.
Please help. Contact me at [email protected] with a contact e-mail or phone number stating how you wish to help and I will get back to you with further details.
I am sure the support we need is out there and I will keep fans up-dated as money is committed to the club. We need to pull together and show we want the club. Please help now.
Update 7th Feb 2005
Thank you to all the fans who have pledged money to the Share Appeal. After just one week, we have almost £2000 committed to the appeal. This is a tremendous effort. A big thank you to everybody concerned. It has also been a pleasure to see the support we have received from fans of other clubs, which is really heartening. I would ask that if you have not yet contacted me, to please do so at [email protected] as soon as possible so that we can help to secure the long term future of the club. If you would prefer, please see me on any match day.

Runcorn FC Halton can today announce the capture of midfielder Scott Willis from Conference side Halifax Town. 23-year old Willis, who has signed for the Linnets until the end of the season, has had spells at a host of football league clubs in his short career, and he hopes that a spell at Runcorn can be his springboard back into the Football League.

29 Jan : Runcorn draw with Barrow 1-1
Runcorn did well to come away with a point from their match at Holker Street. A penalty in the second half saw Barrow take the lead in a match which they dominated, but were unable to put beyond Runcorn’s reach. An exquisite Nicky Young equaliser lifted Runcorn in the last fifteen minutes of the game, but the single point for the draw was as much as they could muster.
26 Jan : Carlisle Too Hot For Linnets
Former Football League side Carlisle United cruised into the Fourth Round of the GLS Cup after a comfortable 5-2 victory over the Linnets at the Halton Stadium. Former Bury manager Andy Preece was the hero for Carlisle, grabbing four goals including a 22-minute first half hat-trick. Nicky Young scored for Runcorn to make it 3-1, and Robbie Moore netted his first for the club to make it 4-2, but a last minute Brendan McGill goal sealed it for the Cumbrians. Full Report to follow.
